Stick Built or Panelized Homes
The traditional method in home building has been the stick built technique. Constructed one board at a time and exposed to the elements on a daily basis.
With the panelized homes system your house is constructed in a controlled environment, delivered to the site, then put together like a jig saw puzzle. Usually with this process your future home is up and the roof is on within a week, secure from the elements.
A study conducted by the NAHB in conjunction with the Wood Truss council of America, found that construction of a 2,600 sq. ft. home with trusses and panels used 26% less lumber, generated 76% less waste, and was constructed in just 37% of the man hours of a similar, stick-built home.
