Dear Visitor,
I started in the construction industry in 1982 as an apprentice
in my hometown of Wappinger Falls N.Y., installing vinyl siding, as
well as doing roofing and general carpentry. After two years,
I decided to start my own business. I purchased my first
truck, a 1950 Ford pickup truck, hired a friend, and the rest is
history.
In 1989, I moved to Schoharie with my wife, built a home, and we
raised our family – sons Steven and David Relyea. From 1989
until about 2001, I traveled to Dutchess County to work, but at the
same time, I was also slowly building my business locally. For
the most part, I did the local jobs on the weekends, and from that,
I started to gain a good reputation. With that, the amount of
local jobs gradually increased. Ultimately, due to the
wonderful response I was receiving in the local area, I was able to
give up my Dutchess County work all together. I created “All
Season Construction” and focused my attention on further building my
business in the local area.
With time, the business continued to grow and expand. For
example, I always had used my truck or living room as an office.
Most of my estimating and phone calls were done primarily in the
evenings, and I did not, at that time, have an “official office” for
All Season. In 2004, however, I was able to purchase the old
Century 21 building on
Main Street in Schoharie, and for the first time in my career I
had an actual office.
The only problem with the office was that I am not what you’d call an “office guy” – I much prefer swinging a hammer!!
Mark Hotaling, who runs the All Season office, is part of All Season’s success. Mark had started with me as a neighbor needing some part-time work. Mark quickly demonstrated his integrity and superior work ethic. His two years in the field allowed him to transition to the position of office manager/estimator, where he is a tremendous asset to me and the business as a whole. Along with Mark, Michele Parks assists in making the office run smoothly, serving as office assistant and bookkeeper.
I have spoken about how All Season’s wonderful office staff has been and remains vital to our success. The same is equally true about our “guys in the field,” without whom our success would not be possible.
Heading it up in the field is Brian Maughan, my field supervisor, who has been with me for ten years. Brian’s diversity and knowledge of the industry, attention to detail, and ability to communicate to our clients what is best for their projects, are second to none. Brian is also a very skilled teacher, role model, and my right hand man on the job.
Todd Bell is another lead man in the field who has both great skills and work ethic. Our customers are always pleased with him as a person and with his skills. Todd is very able to tackle any job, with wonderful results.
John Felitti is yet another asset to our group. Prior to his arrival here, John had his own roofing and siding business. Needless to say, John heads up our exterior work with great precision.
As for the mechanical trades, Jeff Hicks is fast becoming our “mechanical guy.” Jeff’s background in the plumbing and electrical fields is proving him to be a valuable addition to our crew.
Justin Thomas, an apprentice and all around nice guy, shows tremendous promise. He is a team player, fast learner, and a welcomed addition to our staff. I look forward to helping him expand his horizons.
David Relyea, my son and apprentice, also shows promise in the industry. He has a work ethic like mine and is also starting to listen to his old man. He actually may be starting to think I know more than he does.
Our diverse staff allows us to keep the majority of our work “in
house,” which helps to continue to build the business. It also
keeps our projects competitive. We pride ourselves on maintaining a
team effort, and we also strive to further our individual talents by
sharing our expertise with one another.
The result of our team effort is that All Season Construction is
involved in virtually every facet of construction -- from
remodeling, to new home construction, any job, big or small.
We are also dealers for
Harvest
Homes (for whom we were Dealer of the Year for 2006),
Westchester
Modular, and
Avis/Excel modular. We likewise build custom homes, using
“stick built” construction. We are a very diverse company, and
we believe it is that strength which has allowed us to succeed in a
somewhat difficult economic climate.
We have also applied ourselves to keeping pace with new developments in the industry. The industry has changed a lot over the past several years, and we are actively involved in continuing education for green and energy efficient projects. Additionally, I am a member of the:
Through these organizations, I have completed programs and received various certifications, such as:

Some of my employees and I are also certified for the installation of ICFs (insulated concrete foundations), and I am a licensee in this area for Barrier Home Solutions (basement waterproofing) under All Season Waterproofing Solutions.
